The flight of a U.S. B-1 bomber again provoked China as it finds such action targeted to China rather than just security of the country’s claims in the South China Sea. The Chinese army engaged a standoff with Indian forces at the border when Indian troops tried to stop the Chinese from constructing a road in the Bhutanese region. India sees the road as a security threat to its military interests in the area. The standoff continues. No one wins this time. The Chinese need a cool head rather than a hothead in its drive to accede its neighbors’ land in order to expand. Flexing its military muscle may not be treated as a threat to a country which doesn’t have ambitions like India to rise as a super power. A war with China may be imminent for India to gain a reputation as a super power.
