· The Singaporean Prime Minister criticizes the US authorities for the mess that created the shut down and its immediate and long term impact on the country and its citizens, the tax payers. America is slowly but steadily losing its economic and political influence in the world. Obama was the only leader missed this years‘s APEC summit. This was a boon for China as its PW got a box seat.
· China’s secret internet surveillance on citizens has gone beyond everyone’s imagination and that of the world community. There are more than two million internet police working in the team works for the Chinese scanning and surveillance service. The US was accused of doing this on world leaders by its NSA that invited criticism from every corner of the world and China. But, the Chinese authorities are scanning important mails and social networking of its own citizens.
· Serbia is going to join the European Union and EU slowly expanding to the Eastern Europe as well. At present Serbia has 25% unemployment rate. This rate is critical and the economy will have to strive more to achieve.
· Rabbi Ovadia Yosef, 93, the former Sephardic chief rabbi of Israel, died and the state and the citizens feel they lost a great leader and religious icon.
· Google appointed Calico, a medical Company to focus on aging and death of human being. This expansion of life actually didn’t help the world as America and Asia is struggling with baby boomers and declining number of youngsters to take care of the old and retired and there is scarcity of young blood in every sector. The most suffered sector is still defense. Retirement benefits including pension cost many nations a lot - especially the US, so much. Instead of expanding life expectancy, it would be nice the medical field can find a solution to keep everyone healthy and strong and die without being weak and ill.
