·         The US operation against Al-Qaeda in Somali and Libya surprises everyone. The campaign in the Libyan Capital in Tripoli ended capturing Abu Anas al Libya,, a hard core Al-Qaeda leader. This was one of the major operations of America in the recent past. This shows the US determination to thwart terrorist plots anywhere in the world.

·         The Ayatollah Ali Khamenei praised President Hassan Rouhani for his maiden diplomatic efforts, but he didn’t mention anything positive at present. According to him this was a small attempt to reduce tension between the two nations over Iran’s nuclear program.

·         The Russian Arctic drilling for the natural resources invited much wide international protest now reaches a new turn. The Greece peace has called for international solidarity against the protest. The free Arctic 30 campaign provoked the Russian authorities to detain many protestors. Netherlands starts legal action against the Russian intrusion and pleaded to free 30 under the UN Convention of the Law of the Sea...

·         The two-man UK  team is heading to Antarctica to attempt to walk the 2,987 kilometer .This is going to be the longest journey to the pole without any support.

·         Even if the US government shut down drama goes on the President and the Congress members will get their pay cheques along with the Military. Many unproductive departments may go on anvil soon to save more tax payers’ money.

·         Vietnamese Gen. Vo Nguyen Giap, died, he was 102. He had helped the Ho Chi Minh's communist to push the French out of the region and the American troops to withdraw a decade long biter war ever the history seen eliminating most of the male members in the Vietnam.

·         The winter Olympic torch has been passed to Russia from Greece. The flame will visit over 3,000 towns and cities in across Russia.
