Job Description
The mission of the Technical Support Engineering unit is to design, procure, and build test facilities to perform fundamental research and prototypical testing for current and future nuclear propulsion plant designs.
The selected applicant will be responsible following:
Develop designs for new test facilities that operate at high temperature and pressures prototypic of Naval Nuclear Power Plants. These facilities perform thermal hydraulic, fluid dynamic, corrosion, chemistry, and electrical motor testing.
Develop modifications to existing facilities to improve capabilities and reliability.
Work with test engineers, test operators, test sponsors, drafting, and skilled labor to design, construct, operate and maintain test facilities.
Required Skills
Associate:
BS degree in engineering from an accredited college or university required
Intermediate:
BS degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university and a minimum of two years of relevant experience; or
MS degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
Preferred Skills
Energetic and self motivated engineer that enjoys working in a hands on environment.
Experience and/or coursework in power distribution, instrumentation and controls, PLC systems, and computer programing.
Ability to manage large and complex design project from inception through facility commissioning.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office computer applications.
