DC Comics seeks a #Graphic Designer for the Art & Design (West Coast) department.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Support & assist #Art Direction team in the mechanical execution and pre-press production of DC Comics graphic novel collections.
Under the supervision of the Design Director - Books, create innovative design solutions for graphic novel collections in a variety of formats as assigned.
Coordinate schedule workflow with Design Director - Books to insure timely delivery of assignments and assist with the production of sales support materials as needed.
Provide support in the manipulation and preparation of high resolution image files for print.
Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
College or art school degree or equivalent professional experience required.
One year of prior experience in the design field required. Experience with book/publication design preferred.
Macintosh computer experience with contemporary graphics software (Quark, InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop) to create final electronic mechanical files required.
Excellent verbal and written skills to communicate effectively with individuals in other departments and outside vendors required.
Ability to take and follow direction and to work independently required.
Familiarity with contemporary design aesthetics required, an understanding of the comics field helpful.
Basic understanding and use of the language of the traditional design, and electronic production fields required.
